Jack Griffiths
Hey! I am a Ph.D. student in theoretical physics at Durham University 🇬🇧. I am researching quantum fluids, atomtronics and machine learning for applications in physics.
I have previously co-designed and developed digital products used by people around the world.
Now
- Teaching: Foundations of Physics 1
Durham University (since 2021)First year tutor for 12 students covering classical mechanics, optics, waves, electromagnetism, special relativity and quantum mechanics.
- Ph.D. Theoretical Physics
Durham University (since 2020)Researching uses of machine learning in quantum physics. Interested in using ultra-cold atoms for quantum technology.
- Built Quizdle.app
I built a daily quiz app, and I contribute to it along with other question writers.
- Built Ukrainian.fyi
I built an app which finds the stresses of millions of Ukrainian words.
Past
- Teaching: Foundations of Physics 3A
Durham University (2020 – 2021)Delivered third year small group problem classes covering advanced quantum mechanics, nuclear physics and particle physics.
- Master of Physics (First Class Honours)
Newcastle University (2016 – 2020)Dissertation: finite-temperature simulations of a quantum atomtronic interference device.
- Jun 2016 – Apr 2019
Managing Director of a digital product development company, MINIML Ltd., specialising in educational technology. One product won The Queen's Award for Enterprise.
